A 19-year-old, Muhammad Harisu of Nassawa area in the Bauchi metropolis lost his left ear last Wednesday, as a result of an attack by suspected political thugs during a rally organized by supporters of All Progressive Congress (APC), to celebrate their victory in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly election.
Narrating his ordeals in an interview with journalists yesterday, Harisu said he went outside his house to witness the rally when some suspected thugs went on a rampage and cut people at random. “Four of them came to me and cut several parts of my body including my left ear, back and hand. I tried to run but I was already so wounded. So, I rushed to a nearby Pharmaceutical shop where the wounds were treated. “I was then taken to Tashan Babiye hospital by police where I received further treatment. Though, I can hear with the ear, I feel severe pain,” he lamented.
